Genesis 12:1 The Lord said to Abram: “Go from your land, your relatives, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. (CSB) God's call to Abram could be summarized simply, "Leave where you've been and go where I tell you." That's very similar to what Jesus said in the New Testament: Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself,.” (CSB) Trust Me for what will be. I will be a blessing to you, and you will be a blessing to the world. It is the simple account of every conversion that's taken place in every generation since: "Leave where you have been, leave the old ways of sin and rebellion, go where I tell you, I will bless you, you will be a blessing to them." You see, Abram trusted God even when it didn’t make sense. Are you struggling with something God is telling you to do but it doesn’t make sense to you? Remember, Scripture always points to Abraham as an example of biblical faith that was lived out. Why not emulate Abraham’s faith as you obey the Lord.
